About Us

Our Mission

Black Stag Cyber Security was founded in 2018 with a simple mission; helping budget-limited businesses and home users better protect their computing devices (servers, desktops, laptops, smart phones, tablets, etc.) by offering essential services and education without trying to oversell our clients services that they do not want or even need.  We recognize that while an educated and methodical cyber security plan is becoming necessary in both business and the everyday lives of users, not everyone can afford the high monthly prices that many outsourced IT firms charge.  Black Stag Cyber Security is United States Military Veteran owned and operated, with a commitment to protecting American businesses and citizens alike from cyber threats which often originate overseas from nation states that sponsor terrorism and who desire to disrupt the American economy.

Our strategy is simple; after assessing a prospective client's needs and concerns, we offer our recommendations, only sell them what they need, and nothing more.  After working in the managed service provider industry (outsourced IT), our founder noticed that many businesses and home users were being pitched expensive services that were not affordable for them.  This led the otherwise would-be clients to believe they could not afford to protect themselves and their data.  As a result, many prospective clients simply chose to accept the risk of not properly protecting themselves.  At Black Stag, we believe that no one should have to choose between their devices being protected and their bank account, as the two are intertwined.

How are we different?  At Black Stag, we recognize that with both modern advanced malware and the ever-changing threat landscape that hackers use to compromise your systems, simple antivirus solutions alone are no longer adequate enough to stand up to modern threats.  There is a reason why many antivirus solutions are practically free nowadays.  Alternatively, advanced endpoint protection solutions are capable of standing up to unknown threats.  Another shift taking place is the way in which users are connecting to the Internet.  Since 2015, mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) have overtaken traditional desktop computers as the primary way in which users connect to the Internet.  Given this new trend, Internet usage via mobile devices will continue to replace the traditional means of connecting to the Internet.  Because of this, device theft is a frequent cause of data breaches.  A simple antivirus solution will not help you if this happens.  At Black Stag, we aim to keep up with the trends of Internet usage to better serve our clients.  As such, we specialize in implementing advanced endpoint protection (AEP) solutions, as well as mobile device security and management.
